Petroleum Fertilizer and Chemical Corporation (DPM), formerly known as Petroleum Fertilizer and Chemical Company, was established in 2003. The company has Phu My Protein Factory located in Phu My 1 Industrial Park - Ba Ria and Vung Tau. The factory has a total investment capital of 370 million USD with an area of 63 hectares using technology of Haldor Topsoe (Denmark) to produce Ammonia (capacity of 1,350 tons/day) and technology of Snamprogetti (Italy) to produce urea (capacity of 2,200 tons/day). The main business area of the Company is the production of nitrogen fertilizer (with a capacity of 800 thousand tons of protein/year). In addition, the company also deals in liquid ammonia (with a capacity of 96 thousand tons of acid/year) and residual electricity (The production technology of Phu My Dam plant allows creating electrical products, not only providing enough requirements for the production plant itself but also creating commercial electricity sold to EVN Group). Phu My Protein production meets about 40% of domestic nitrogen fertilizer demand. On November 5, 2007, DPM officially traded on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (hose).
